Motorola and Lenovo have already confirmed that they will be attending this year’s biggest tech event, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Motorola’s press conference is set to take place on February 26, on the same day when Huawei and LG will announce new products.

Motorola has started a countdown on its German website, but it doesn’t specifically say what it’s about. At the time of writing, the countdown reads 22 days, 4 hours and 42 minutes, which adds up to Motorola’s February 26 press conference.

Additional information isn’t provided, only the image of a gold octopus in the background of the Motorola logo, which leaves us a bit confused and makes us think that the G5 won’t be the only device that the company will unveil at MWC.

There is little left unsaid about the Moto G5 and G5 Plus, as they were listed by a retailer ahead of the official announcement, with all specs revealed. Multiple images of the two smartphones have surfaced over the past few weeks and leakster Roland Quandt has recently said that the smartphone will be made available shortly after its MWC announcement.

Moto G5 to be made available in mid-March

UK retailer Clove will start selling the Moto G5 in mid-March. The listing reveals that the G5 in Gold and Grey will be made available in the UK and in other markets as well, including the US since it recently received FCC certification.

The Moto G5 is expected to come with a 5-inch 1080p resolution display and run Snapdragon 430 processor, designed merely for low and mid-range smartphones. It could be made available in two variants, one with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, while the other might have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. A 13MP camera with dual LED flash will be placed at the back, while front camera capacity could reach 5MP. The phone might also have a fingerprint sensor and NFC connectivity.
