14 DAY TRIAL // Motorola unveiled three new Moto X series smartphones back in July, but they are not yet available worldwide. Two these devices have been confirmed to arrive in India, but their exact release date was unknown until today.
According to Motorola India, the Moto X Play will be officially introduced in the country on September 14. Although there are no details on pricing options yet, we do know the smartphone will be exclusively available in India through major retailer Flipkart.
It's also worth mentioning that customers in India will be able to purchase the dual-SIM version of Moto X Play rather than the single-SIM model which is available in the rest of the world.

Aside from that, there are no differences between the two smartphones. Also, since Motorola announced that the Moto X Play would be available in 16GB and 32GB variants, it's possible that customers in India will be able to choose from the two models.
As many of you probably know by now, Motorola Moto X Play comes preloaded with the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.
It also packs a 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.
The specs
On the inside, the Moto X Play comes with either 16GB or 32GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
The Moto X Play sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating for extra protection.
There's also a 21-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera in the front.
Motorola Moto X Play is IP52 certified and features water repellant nano-coating. It's powered by a non-removable 3,630 mAh battery with fast charging technology and offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC (Near Field Communication) and GPS with AGPS connectivity options.
