Motorola is working on the successors to last year’s Moto Z smartphones, and it seems that images of the upcoming phones have just surfaced. The pictures reveal the Moto Z2 Force and Moto Z2 Play next to last year’s models in the Moto Z series.

Upcoming Moto Z2 smartphones will have the same size as last year’s models in the line, as to ensure compatibility with Moto Mods. The images leaked by Roland Quandt and Andri Yatim‏ reveal the connector pins at the back of upcoming Moto Z2 phones.

The phones appear to feature a design quite similar to last year’s Moto Z Force and Moto Z Play, with the exception that the Moto Z2 Force now comes with a dual-camera setup and a black front. The Moto Z2 Play portrayed in the image appears to have a white front and a single-lens camera on the back.

On both devices, the fingerprint sensor is located below the screen, while the LED flash is featured in front of the cameras. The second image shows the Moto Z2 Play next to last year’s Moto Z and Moto Z Play, revealing slight differences in terms of rear camera design.

5.5-inch Quad HD display on the Moto Z2 Force

Rumors suggest that the Moto Z2 Force will have a 5.5-inch Quad HD ShatterShield display and run Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 platform, while the Moto Z2 Play will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p screen and run the recently announced Snapdragon 626 chipset. For obvious reasons related to performance, the Moto Z2 Force will feature a higher price tag compared to the Z2 Play.

The June 8 date is visible on the display of both smartphones, suggesting that the launch could take place on that day. However, Motorola didn’t reveal anything about when the phones will be announced, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Another difference to last year’s models is the fact that the Moto Z2 Force might not be exclusive to Verizon, as T-Mobile and Sprint could also offer them to customers.
