Motorola released the Moto Z and Moto Z Force earlier this year, and while the smartphones did manage to catch the attention of the market, many were left wondering where the Moto Z Play was. The three smartphones had leaked in some images together, but it seemed that the company decided against releasing the Moto Z Play together with the other two.
Specs and images of the Moto Z Play have been leaking online for some time now, with the latest batch of pictures showing the smartphone's front and back panels, according to Techdroider. The images have been posted by Jerry Yin. The Moto Z Play has also recently been certified by the Chinese regulator TENAA and the Bluetooth SIG, which can only signal an imminent release.
The new batch of images confirms that the Moto Z Play will support the modular accessories MotoMods, released at the same time as the Moto Z and Moto Z Force. However, the Moto Z Play will come with something that the other two handsets don't have, namely a 3.5mm earphone jack.
The Moto Z Play could come with Snapdragon 625 processor
Rumors say that the Moto Z Play will come with a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and run Snapdragon 625 SoC with an octa-core CPU coupled with Adreno 506 graphics processing unit.
The smartphone will also come with 64GB of internal storage and have a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, and OIS, combined with a 5MP front selfie snapper. Battery capacity on the Moto Z Play is unclear at this point, but it surely ranges between 3,300mAh and 3,510mAh.
The smartphone is also said to come with USB Type-C port and a fingerprint sensor while the device is expected to run Android Marshmallow 6.0.
At this point, it's unclear when Motorola will finally decide to release the Moto Z Play, but considering the pace of these leaks, it shouldn't be long now.
