After much anticipation, Motorola announced the Moto M Android smartphone in China last month and in India a few days ago. The phone has been available only in these two Asian countries, but it seems that it has made its European debut as well.

The Moto M was recently announced in Slovakia for the price of about €279 (around $290), similar to the amount the phone sells for in China. The price might vary depending on the country, but it won’t draw away too far from the €279 mark.

The Moto M might be made available in Western and Eastern Europe too, seeing how the holiday season is just around the corner and the price tag would make it an affordable gift for many customers.

Moto M has 4k video recording and a 3,060mAh battery

The mid-range smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6755 Helio P15 processor and has 4GB of RAM, coupled with 32GB of internal memory, which can be expanded using a microSD card. Moreover, it has a 5.5-inch display with full HD resolution and an all-metal unibody design.

The 16MP rear camera incorporates phase-detection autofocus, OIS and 4k video recording, which is quite impressive for a mid-ranger. 8MP in the front is enough for snapping selfies and conducting video calls.

Moving on, the phone draws power from a 3,060mAh battery with Turbo charge technology for faster charging and has a USB Type-C port, which has become a norm in recent smartphones. The fingerprint sensor enhances security, while the phone comes with splash and rain resistance that won’t protect the device if it were submerged under water.

Moto M runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out the box, which disappointed some customers who were expecting Nougat 7.0 on board. Nonetheless, Moto M will make quite an impression on the European market, and it remains to be seen when it will be made available in other countries as well.
