Support for multi-disc games is also being implemented

Microsoft continues to push for backwards compatibility, and it looks like it’s making some real progress with support for multi-disk games. One of the latest is Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Being able to play multi-disc Xbox 360 games on Xbox One seems to be one of the priorities for Microsoft, and the developers are pushing to have even more titles available in 2016. It’s an important feature for them since it’s one of the things that PlayStation 4 will never have. It’s a powerful selling point, and there are already a lot of Xbox 360 owners out there.

Microsoft already has a number of 100 games that should work with Xbox One, and it’s planning to implement new features directly into the store. Technically, users just have to enter their discs into Xbox One and install the game. It’s that easy. There is a problem, though, with games that shipped on multiple discs, which happened for a long time while Xbox 360 was still in operation.

More Xbox 360 games are coming soon

The backwards compatibility that’s being implemented right now in Xbox One is not done automatically. It requires extra work from Microsoft and the original developers of the games. According to a report on Gamespot, the Square Enix team has been hard at work making Deus Ex: Human Revolution ready for Xbox One, and they've managed to complete it.

The team has confirmed on Twitter that Deux Ex works now, but it looks like the Missing Link and DXHR Director's Cut are not supported just yet, and it will be a while until that happens.

In the meantime, Sony is working on something a little bit stranger. They have already said that making PlayStation 3 games work on PlayStation won’t happen, but apparently, the new console is powerful enough for PlayStation 2 emulation, and some titles have already been made available in this fashion.
