The development team at Telltale Games has been relatively mysterious about the upcoming Minecraft: Story Mode, saying that it wants the community to be surprised by the mechanics and the narrative arc introduced by the title.

Now a preview from Game Informer delivers some more details about the main character and the way he will be able to explore the world originally created by Mojang.

Jesse is the star of the first two episodes of Minecraft: Story Mode, and the first scene of the game is focused on a pig called Reuben, which gets into trouble and gets the protagonist into a battle against spiders, creepers and zombies, during which only a wooden sword is used.

Telltale is delivering a crafting mode that will allow gamers to get a range of ingredients and then asks them to arrange them in a specific way on a special table in order to get the results that they want.

The developers have offered a little more details about the EnderCon incident that gamers will have to deal with, showing a powerful three-headed beast that can use a beam to absorb everyone and everything in the world.

Gamers will still have to make the classic Telltale choices, but Minecraft: Story Mode seems to be more focused on action moments, even if combat is not always the best way to solve a challenge.

Jesse will be able to get a new appearance

It seems that the game will be focused on the character and will give gamers a way to make him appealing in terms of appearance, although his voice will remain that of either Patton Oswalt or Catherine Taber.

Telltale says that it wants to create an adventure that is instantly recognizable to fans of its episodic titles but also appeals to the huge number of players who love Minecraft.

Some fans have expressed worries about the fact that the studio will be unable to implement extensive crafting and buildings mechanics.

Minecraft: Story Mode should be out before the end of the game on the PC, the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, older home consoles and mobile devices, with some rumors saying that it will arrive at the end of October.
