14 DAY TRIAL // It's been a painful wait for Android users to wait for the new Minecraft: Pocket Edition update 0.12.1, which has just been released in Google Play Store.
However, the major update was initially launched on Windows Phone and iOS platforms, even though they aren't world's top mobile operating system.
Luckily, Mojang did not delay the launch of update 0.12.1 on Android devices for more than a day. In fact, the Android version has been updated several hours after the iOS game made it to App Store.
Anyway, as many Minecraft fans probably know by now, update 0.12.1 brings major changes and gameplay features.
Controller support, cross-platform play
One of the most important is cross-platform play with Windows 10 Edition players, as well as controller support and weather effects. Here are some of the most important changes included in this update:
- The Nether and all its inhabitants. Fight Ghasts and make friends with Pigmen; - Cross platform play for up to five players between Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Edition; - Revamped touch controls, controller support, and a controller mapping screen; - Enhanced Weather effects! Accumulating snow and more; - Ocelots! Try taming one with a fish; - Experience, Anvils, Brewing, and enchantments. Time to up your game, crafter; - Golems. We recommend you approach with caution; - Flower pots. We recommend you fill them with flowers; - Sneaking and sprinting! Express yourself through movement! - Loads of bug fixes that are too boring to list here; - Lots, lots more!
If you don't have the game yet, you can now download Minecraft: Pocket Edition for Android for $6.99 / €6.99 via Google Play Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3.3 and up.
Keep in mind that the game features in-app purchases too, but if you don't want to spend real money, you can disable this feature.
