While Microsoft hasn't yet announced any new flagship Windows 10 smartphones this year, a handful of other companies like Acer and HP plan to launch high-end devices in the next couple of weeks.

Acer Liquid Jade Primo and HP Elite X3 have been recently showcased at MWC 2016, and the former is already available for pre-order in some European countries.

If you're looking for HP's flagship, then you might have to wait a while since the company doesn't have an exact timeframe for the release of the device yet

Aside from the fact that they come with Windows 10 Mobile operating system right out of the box, these smartphones have two other things in common: they're expensive, and they come with Continuum for Phones support.

Continuum for Phones is not available for all Windows 10 Mobile handsets since it depends on the chipset inside.

For the time being, those who want a brand new smartphone that would support this feature will have to go for a flagship smartphone, which means that will have to pay quite a lot of money.

Acer hasn't yet decided whether or not the device will make it to market

However, it appears that Acer might be up to something that would reduce the cost of such a feature. A new mid-range Windows 10 Mobile smartphone coming from Acer might be announced in the next couple of weeks, Dr.Windows reports.

Details about its hardware configuration are scarce at the moment, but sources familiar with Acer's plans claim the smartphone will come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor inside, which will make it fully compatible with Continuum for Phones feature.

Another piece of leaked information is the fact that this mid-range Windows 10 Mobile handset won't cost more than €300, which isn't cheap but neither is expensive.

The problem is Acer hasn't yet decided whether this mid-range smartphone will be launched on the market or not. Depending on the sales of the Jade Primo and the interest that business users will show in this device, Acer might or might not release it on the market.
