The PlayStation 4 is still offered in some great bundles

Aaron Greenberg, the leader of the home console division at Microsoft, is suggesting that the Xbox One has managed to be the leader when it comes to Black Friday video game hardware sales in the United States, although the company is unwilling to offer any clear numbers at the moment.

According to a series of Twitter messages from the executive, the PlayStation 4 has also performed well, with a lot of players willing to spend around 300 dollars or Euro to get one of the new platforms.

Aaron Greenberg says that bundles were the ones that drove sales and Halo 5: Guardians, the new title featuring Master Chief, is probably the title that managed to generate the most interest in the Xbox One.

The company has not said whether it plans to introduce a new set of offers in time for Christmas and New Year's Eve or whether it is more focused on the kind of new experiences that it can add in 2016.

The device has recently received access to a new user experience, which is heavily modeled on Windows 10 and integrates the platform into the wider ecosystem based around it, which also includes mobiles, tablets and PCs.

Sony has not offered any official sales numbers about the PlayStation 4 over Black Friday, but at least one analyst believes the console has managed to dominate physical sales.

Target has said that, when digital orders are taken into account, the Wii U had a very good performance and managed to dominate the day.

Gamers can still get a PlayStation 4 for under 300 dollars or Euro

Sony has announced that it is bringing back some of the best offers of the period, allowing potential customers to pick up two bundles, one which feature the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and another that includes Star Wars Battlefront, between December 6 and December 19.

Gamers will be able to get the PlayStation 4 and one of the biggest titles of the moment for 299 dollars or Euro and the company might be preparing an even better deal for Christmas.

At the moment the Sony device is over the 30.2 million in sales all over the world, and Microsoft, even if official figures have not been revealed, is understood to be over 25 million.

Both devices are performing better than the Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 3 did at the same moment during their life cycle.

They might soon face competition from the unannounced NX made by Nintendo, which rumors are claiming will arrive at some point in 2016 and might deliver around 12 million units to gamers during its first year on the market.

Until then, it's possible that Sony and Microsoft will introduce new price cuts for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One to keep them attractive.

The slate of new video game launches for next year includes titles like Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Gears of War 4, Quantum Break and more.

The big releases of 2015, ranging from Halo 5: Guardians to Star Wars Battlefront and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, will also get new downloadable content packs.
