14 DAY TRIAL // Windows 10 has already brought some visual tweaks here and there, but it looks like Microsoft is working on more improvements in this area, and the first changes are likely to be part of the next insider release.
Twitter user @tfwboredom has posted screenshots that appear to be part of an unreleased Windows 10 preview build and showing animations for the modern Calculator app. This is proof that Redmond’s looking into way to make opening and closing store apps more pleasant to the eye, and such improvements are supposed to make these apps a little bit more appealing to Windows 10 adopters.
In Windows 10, Microsoft has already introduced new opening and closing Win32 app effects, so the company’s now working to make them available across the entire operating system, most likely in an effort to offer a unified experience everywhere.
It’s not yet clear when these effects could become available to users, but the next Windows 10 build is very likely to bring the first changes in this regard. As for the launch of the next build, expect it to happen sometime this month, but no timing is available at the moment, as Redmond is all focused on the mobile version of the operating system.
Other small tweaks also prepared
According to the very same post, Microsoft’s efforts to improve context menus in Windows 10 are paying off, and right now, the company has already managed to refine the look that’s available to testers in build 10532.
The desktop context menus are no longer white but come with a tint of gray, while the personalization icon has also been changed to get in line with the modern look of the entire operating system.
All these changes might seem pretty minor at first glance, but they do matter and Microsoft doesn’t afford to mess them right now. It has already done that with the Windows 10 icons, and we all know what's happened.
