Microsoft is working on another Band 2 update that will bring several major features to users, including smart alerts, and a universal Health app that would work on all devices running Windows 10.

The software giant hasn’t yet revealed the release date of this new update, but more information comes from WBI, which reveals that both the universal app and the new features would be released by Microsoft at the same time at some point in the future, most likely in just a few weeks.

Naturally, the universal app will work on all Windows 10 devices, including here PCs, tablets, smartphones running the new operating system and will be available through the store for a quick install.

But in terms of features coming to the Band 2, there are a lot more exciting things on their way to our wrists.

New smart alerts

First and foremost, the device will finally get more smart alerts, so it will alert you when it’s time to hydrate or to eat. Of course, these are only estimates, so while they do come in handy, it’s important to known that such recommendations can only be tailored to each specific individual.

At this point, the Band 2 already provides notifications to wearers to exercise whenever they’re spending too much time sitting, but Microsoft is planning to expand this feature with many more smart alerts.

Additionally, the update will also include better navigation features, so you’ll be able to mark points of interests and navigate to them easily without pulling out your phone. And last but not least, the update will also include challenges and achievements, with users to be able to compete with friends and other people on Facebook. Sharing options will also be part of these features, so you will be allowed to post your achievements on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
