14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft recently announced it has renamed its Music application from Windows 10 to Groove. However, the Android and iOS apps have remained the same, so you can find them in Google Play Store and App Store as Xbox Music.
That being said, it looks like both Android and iOS applications have received updates that bring major changes to how users interact with Xbox Music.
Long-time users know that in order to use the application on either Android or iOS devices, they would need an Xbox Music Pass.
The Xbox Music Pass would offer ad-free music stream, the option to make playlists available offline and listen to your favorite music while on the move, as well as the ability to add songs, albums, and playlists to Xbox Music collection and access them from other devices.
Well, everything of the above is now available for free, as Microsoft removed the Xbox Music Pass requirement in the latest update for Android and iOS.

Also, the Android version received some new features and improvements as well. For example, offline playback is now supported for many new devices. The (Beta) Music in the OneDrive music folder will now appear as part of your collection.
Furthermore, in addition to playlists, you will now be able to download individual songs and albums for offline use. Last but not least, the update adds the option to filter music to see what's available offline.
Moving on to the iOS version of Xbox Music, Microsoft added the same new features and improvements included in the latest Android update. Both apps received some bug fixes as well.
You can now download Xbox Music for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
For iOS users, the application can be downloaded via App Store. It should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 7.0 or later.
