Improvements delivered for many Windows 10 applications

Microsoft has just released another app update for Windows 10, so if you’re already on the new operating system, just launch the store and prepare to be amazed.

This time, Microsoft has updated more than a handful of apps, which shows that the company is very keen on keeping its promise and delivering improvements to the operating system as a whole and to the installed programs much faster than before.

And that’s actually a really good thing, but the one big problem still remains: no change logs are provided with these updates, so nobody knows exactly what they improve or fix.

As you can see in the screenshot above, there are updates for no less than 13 apps for Windows 10, 12 of which belong to Microsoft. Office Mobile apps were updated yesterday, but they somehow showed up in the store again today, alongside MSN News, Sports, Weather, and Money.

Since this is a big pack of updates, Microsoft most likely developed a series of improvements that can be introduced for all these apps, so expect somewhat better performance after updating.

Problems when installing updates

Some of our readers have told us that the store is extremely slow when it comes to installing app updates, and we’ve indeed experienced the same problem on at least a couple of our machines here at Softpedia.

There’s no still no explanation why this happens to some and why it doesn’t to others, but if everything’s working fine on your PC, then you are on the lucky side.

Microsoft experienced some problems with the store in early August and the company needed about one week to fix these, but there’s no evidence that these issues are in any way related to the old ones.

The latest Windows 10 Cumulative Update might also include some app performance improvements too, so make sure you install that one in case something doesn’t work as expected.
