14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has released a highly-requested feature in the latest version of Outlook for iPhone and Android that allows users to view attachments in calendar entries.
While Microsoft briefly says in the release notes that “Calendar attachments are now available in Outlook. View inline images and open attachments right from the event details,” this has been one of the most-voted requests on the company’s UserVoice feedback platform for the app.
As MSPU notes, requests for this feature started pouring in back in November 2015, and the entry currently has more than 1,500 votes. With Outlook growing bigger on both mobile platforms, more users demanded support for calendar attachment support.
For the time being, however, in the Apple ecosystem, only the iPhone appears to be supported, as opening calendar attachments in the Outlook app on an iPad still doesn’t seem to be possible, according to user posts.
Microsoft, on the other hand, will probably deliver more updates in this regard in the coming versions, so support for calendar attachments should be getting better with new releases.
