Microsoft has released a new series of updates for the iOS flavor of the OneDrive client that provides easy access to its cloud-storage service.

With this latest rollout, OneDrive for iOS reaches version 10.22, though the latest two releases are the ones that bring substantial improvements to the app.

First of all, version 10.21, which was published on June 29, comes with improvements for the drag and drop experience. Microsoft has included refinements to prevent accidental drag and drop actions of files stored in the cloud by adding a confirmation to let you choose whether you want to complete the process or not.

“We love making it easy to do things. Unfortunately, it’s too easy to accidentally move items with drag and drop. We’ve added a confirmation to quick moves with drag and drop to make it harder to move items by accident,” Microsoft explains.

Then, there’s version 10.22, which was released only a few hours ago and which comes with an important improvement for users who upload files to the cloud on a regular basis.

OneDrive’s uploading progress notification that shows up on the screen within the app sometimes moved around the screen, and as it turns out, this wasn’t a feature but a bug that Microsoft fixed in this last build.

“Sometimes the uploading progress toast would move from the bottom of the screen to the upper left corner. This was annoying and has been fixed,” the firm said.

The new OneDrive update can be downloaded from the App Store using this link. Further improvements are expected next week, as Microsoft is delivering new goodies for the iOS sibling of OneDrive every seven days. This is without a doubt a welcome approach given Microsoft’s focus on iOS and Android apps, as the company wants users to be able to connect to its services regardless of the mobile platform they embraced.
