14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft launched its famous Word Flow application on iOS platform just a few days ago. Today, iOS users will be pleased to know that the Redmond-based company has released a major update for another one of its popular apps, Office Lens.
Office Lens allows users to trim, enhance and make pictures of whiteboards and documents readable, as well as convert images to editable Word and PowerPoint files.
But with the latest version, iOS users will be able to do so much more. First of all, Office Lens 1.3 comes with multi-scanning features, which means you can now take a series of images and save them at the same time.
Another important tweak added in this update is the ability to rotate photos, which is also one of the most requested features.
As expected, Microsoft has also added support for 3D touch technology, so users will now be able to select modes by simply pressing and holding the Office Lens icon on the screen. Obviously, the new feature will only be available on iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
Users can now scan handwritten text in English and export it in OneNote
Handwritten text OCR is another improvement included in the latest update. It's supposed to scan handwritten text in English and export it to OneNote, where users will be able to search for it just like in the case of normal text.
Last but not least, Microsoft has introduced a new Business Card mode, which provides users with the option to scan business cards in Simplified Chinese and extract contact information while on the move.
Along with the new features and improvements included in the update, Microsoft has also added an important bug fix. So users who have the same Office 365 and Microsoft account will now be able to use Office Lens with both accounts.
