14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has released a new Office Insider build for users enrolled in the testing program for Windows desktop.
The Insider Fast build is labeled as version 1910 with build number 12112.20000, and it comes without any new features, as the focus has been entirely on fixing bugs in the productivity suite.
Outlook is getting three different notable fixes in this release, according to the official changelog which is also embedded at the end of the article.
For example, Microsoft has fixes two different bugs hitting Outlook, the first of which prevented mailbox synchronization for customers with multiple accounts in Outlook. The problem was experienced when migrating to modern authentication in Office 365, Microsoft says.
The other bug resolved with this release caused some characters in signature labels to not be displayed in the dropdown menu of Outlook.
And of course, this build also comes with other under-the-hood improvements, including for selecting a specific room when a large number is available.
Word improvements
Microsoft Word is also getting two important fixes, according to the changelog. Microsoft fixes a bug that broke down the scrolling from working correctly in the Draft view, as well as a glitch hitting Tool Tips when saving documents.
Microsoft Excel users are getting one significant fix, as Microsoft says it addressed a problem causing the application to hang at launch. This is something that probably caused much frustration among Excel users, albeit it’s important to keep in mind that builds in the Insider program shouldn’t be installed on production machines.
Overall, this new release is a light one and is entirely focused on polishing the experience the with the productivity suite, rather than on new features. This makes sense given it’s the second update of the month for the same channel, with the previous bringing a new feature that activates the Draw tab when using a Surface Pen to make selecting colors easier.
