14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft Launcher is growing at a surprising pace, having reached 10 million downloads on the Google Play Store only a couple of days ago, and the software giant rolling out updates on a regular basis is certainly one of the factors.
Today, for instance, the company rolled out a beta update to version 4.4 that includes options to create folders in the app drawer, a feature which you would otherwise expect to be there from the very beginning but which Microsoft says it’s adding as a result of user feedback.
Additionally, Microsoft Launcher now comes with batch mode for apps on home screen and app drawer, which enables further functionality that can be applied to several apps at the same time.
“You can now select multiple items at the same time, across different page, move, remove, drag & drop or even creating new folders in home screen or app drawer though long press menu,” Microsoft explains in the official release notes of the app.
New animation and dock refinements
Microsoft Launcher version 4.4 also introduces an open app animation, as well as options to enable and disable the dock, which is certainly a welcome improvement since it provides users with more customization options.
Microsoft says another highly-requested update concerns pill count improvements for a number of apps like Line, BBM, WhatsApp, and Instagram. “This is one of the highest bug reporting in our weekly user feedback report, so we spend a whole release to make it better, it’s still not perfect so please keep the feedback coming in around this,” the firm says.
And last but not least, this update introduces weather and time widget improvements to address a weather refresh issue, so the forecast should be correctly refreshed after installing version 4.4.
