Microsoft is really committed to improving its Android apps, and Arrow Launcher, the company’s own launcher for Google’s mobile platform, is getting improvements regularly as part of both the stable and the beta channels.

Today, it’s the turn of the latter to receive a new series of tweaks, and a quick look at the changelog confirms that this is quite a major release that could soon become available for all.

First and foremost, version 3.4 comes with Android for Work support. Android for Work is Google’s attempt to bring the smartphone operating system in the enterprise market with more control over specific features, so features like increased security and better app management are offered.

For example, IT admins can prevent the installation of apps from unknown sources, apply app configurations, and protect devices with disk encryption and other solutions, while also creating profiles that separate home apps from work apps on specific phones.

Note support and search improvements

At the same time, this update introduces note support, with a new card allowing users to take notes at any time without the need for a dedicated app. Image support is also being offered should you want to include pics as well.

Microsoft has also focused on the search feature, so it now supports voice and QR, but also on the password protection option for hidden app, which makes the whole launcher a bit more secure, as your apps are hidden from any other user.

There’s also a new feature that allows you to create app shortcuts in order to access specific apps a bit faster.

Keep in mind that all these features are still part of the beta program, but if everything is working correctly and no major bugs are discovered, they should be promoted to the stable build as soon as possible.

Of course, you can also give them a try right now without waiting another minute, and all you have to do is download Arrow Launcher beta APK from Softpedia.
