Microsoft has released a new version of Outlook for Android, and this fresh release includes one important improvement for those who use the app for work accounts.

Starting with version 2.2.194, the email app comes with a new Do Not Disturb settings that allow users to configure Outlook in order to block notifications based on specific settings.

For example, Do Not Disturb can be configured in Outlook to be enabled until users manually turn it off, for one hour, or until the next day. Additionally, DND can be scheduled to kick in automatically based on certain intervals, like during events, during work hours, and during weekends.

The most helpful setting concerns events, as the Outlook app can look in the calendar for appointments and meetings and then mute new emails until they come to an end.

Widely-used Android email app

Additionally, the new Outlook for Android also comes with performance improvements and unnamed bug fixes, so the app should run a bit smoother and be more reliable on the majority of phones.

Microsoft Outlook is an ever-evolving email client, and right now it’s one of the most popular on Android. Microsoft adding new features on a regular basis is obviously one important reason, though it goes without saying that the company still has a lot of work to do in order to comply with all the feedback it receives.

At this point, Outlook for Android has over 100 million downloads from the Google Play Store alone, and the figure is probably much higher considering that users can also install the app with a stand-alone APK.

The app has a 4.3 rating out of a maximum of 5 with 3.2 million reviews posted on the Google Play store, and the count obviously increases as new versions are released. As usual, you can download Outlook for Android from Softpedia right now to try the features mentioned above.
