One of the most popular Android applications developed by Microsoft, Hyperlapse has just received a major update that brings new features and improvements.

The most important seems to be the fact that Hyperlapse for Android users will now be able to save hyperlapses to SD storage, which wasn't possible until now. On top of that, it's worth mentioning that this feature is only available on compatible devices though it's unclear which ones Microsoft is referring to.

Another new feature announced by Microsoft is the option to save hyperlapses in full HD (1080p) format. However, once again, developers confirmed this feature is only available on compatible devices.

Those who own the Nexus 5x and use the Hyperlapse application will be pleased to know that Microsoft has finally fixed the orientation issue.

Last but not least, the official changelog mentions that the update should clarify how to save original video with stabilization.

The features

If you haven't tried Microsoft's Hyperlapse application or haven't been aware of such an application, then here is a quick rundown of its features.

With Hyperlapse, you can shoot smooth and stable time-lapse videos, or quickly upload and enhance videos that you already have stored on the phone.

It allows you to choose from multiple shooting speeds and different HD resolutions. You can also import existing video or see the hyperlapse immediately.

Hyperlapse includes a stabilize-only mode that allows users to select 1x for stabilization without time-lapse, and keep the video's audio track.

Also, you can share your hyperlapses on popular social media and video sites including Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. As mentioned earlier, some features are only compatible with some devices though.

You can now download Hyperlapse for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.4 KitKat and up.
