Microsoft Translator is already a super-advanced application that works across a wide array of devices, but today the company rolled out an update that is exclusively aimed at iPhone users, bringing a number of features that make it even more powerful.

First and foremost, it’s worth mentioning that Microsoft Translator, now at version 3.0.5 on iOS, comes with improved offline behavior, which means that you should expect the same performance when using it without an Internet connection as compared to when running it connected to the Internet.

Microsoft offers several offline packs for supported languages, and it says that with this update, downloading them is substantially faster and easier.

Profanity filter and easy sharing

Additionally, version 3.0.5 comes with a profanity filter and options to turn it off, should you really want to, as well as with a dedicated feature to show the detected language in a much more intuitive language, but also with options to swap to and from language. This is a behavior to what you get right now on Google Translate, for example, where you can toggle between two languages with just a click.

Microsoft says that it has also added a new animation to respond to user input in speech mode, so you’ll know when the translation is about to begin, as well as action buttons in text mode to make it faster to share and pin translations. And last but not least, you’re going to see a new prompt for app review after running the app several times, as Microsoft still wants your feedback to improve the app.

Microsoft Translator is a very successful iOS app, and it currently has a rating of 4.5 starts out of a maximum of 5 in the App Store. It works on devices running iOS 9.0 and later, and is compatible with iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch models.
