Microsoft is projected to take the wraps off the Windows 10 Anniversary Update (often referred to as the Redstone update) in July, but the company has one last chance to discuss this important release in front of a huge crowd next month at COMPUTEX.

The company has confirmed that it’ll attend the show in Taipei to “join over 100,000 industry partners from over 29 countries,” and Windows boss Terry Myerson will be one of those who’ll take the stage to discuss Windows 10. Alex Kipman, the man behind Microsoft HoloLens, and Nick Parker, corporate vice president of the OEM division, will also hold keynotes.

Introducing Windows 10 Anniversary Update to the audience will be the main priority, especially because the new version is due to arrive one month after that.

Full focus on Redstone improvements

Of course, the company will detail the latest improvements that are part of the update, including Windows Ink and Cortana, two of the features that are playing key roles in Redstone.

“I will take the stage to discuss how Microsoft is enabling modern Windows devices and experiences. I look forward to sharing how Windows 10 technologies like Windows Hello, Windows Ink, Cortana and more are coming to life in all new and exciting ways on a broad range of devices. And, how Microsoft productivity apps and cloud services provide rich experiences across devices to help people achieve more - and have more fun,” Parker explains.

Without a doubt, getting closer to the partner ecosystem and OEMs is critical to Microsoft’s success, and certain features of the Redstone update are entirely based on this relationship.

Windows Ink, for instance, is supposed to put the focus on pen support in Windows 10, so Microsoft needs to work together with partners to make the stylus a more widely adopted accessory on all devices. Rumor has it that the company plans to create pens that can be used on any touch-capable device, so it needs help from OEMs to offer a wider range of products.
