New updates to go live as part of the Patch Tuesday cycle

Microsoft is getting ready to roll out new Windows 10 cumulative updates for all versions of the operating system still receiving security updates.

The rollout would take place as part of the April 2021 Patch Tuesday cycle and will, of course, be focused on security improvements aimed at the vulnerabilities found in the operating system.

Needless to say, these cumulative updates should be installed as soon as possible by all users, though as we learned the hard way, doing this is sometimes not the best idea, as they could come with various issues that Microsoft wasn’t aware of in the beginning.

New Windows 10 feature update also coming

The April 2021 Patch Tuesday cycle will also bring additional improvements for Insider builds, and this time, the rollout is particularly important because Microsoft is getting ready to release another feature update for Windows 10.

It’s Windows 10 version 21H1, which according to Microsoft’s typical release schedule should go live in the spring of the year, most likely next month.

Windows 10 version 21H1 too will land in the form of a quality update, as the focus this time has been on refining the performance of the OS and less on new features.

“Windows 10, version 21H1 will have a scoped set of features improving security, remote access and quality. The features we are releasing in this update are focused on the core experiences that customers have told us they’re relying on most right now. So, we optimized this release to support our customers’ most pressing needs,” Microsoft explains.

We’ll publish the list of cumulative updates for new Windows 10 versions tomorrow when the rollout starts and will then let you know should any problems be encountered by those who install them on their own devices.
