All of them will be powered by Windows 10 Mobile

Microsoft had a tough 2015 and thinks are not looking that great for the company's smartphone business. After announcing layoffs affecting no less than 7,800 people, most of them from the mobile division, Microsoft is now preparing for the launch of Windows 10 on PC, which is happening on July 29.

Windows 10 Mobile has been confirmed to arrive after the PC version, but a clear date has yet to be announced by Microsoft. According to the latest hearsay, Microsoft will launch Windows 10 Mobile this fall, along with at least two high-end smartphones, which are currently known as Lumia 940 XL and Lumia 940.

Microsoft announced it would streamline its smartphone business for fewer device launches per year, and it looks like the new policy will be applied beginning 2015.

If Microsoft had decided to launch no more than six smartphones per year, two for each price range (high-end, mid-end and affordable), then we should see six smartphones with Windows 10 being launched this year.

It will be a busy H2 2015 for Microsoft

The information has just been confirmed by @evleaks, though he does not mention whether the six Lumia smartphones he knows of will be launched by the end of 2015 or some will be introduced next year.

The good news is Windows Phone fans should expect a whole array of Lumia smartphones beginning this fall.

Obviously, there could be more than six since some of them might not have been revealed to @evleaks, but the point is Microsoft is still serious about its smartphone business.

Four Lumia smartphones were revealed last month with their codenames: Guilin, Honjo, Sanna and Saimaa. However, apart from their names nothing is known about them.

We can't wait to find out more about these devices pretty soon, as they seem to be different than the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL that we already know of.
