One of the most anticipated Surface product releases is the new Pro 8, which according to Microsoft’s typical release calendar, is supposed to show up sometimes next year.

And while the Redmond-based software giant has obviously remained completely tight-lipped on everything related to the Surface Pro 8, here’s what someone claims it is an early prototype of the upcoming model.

Listed on eBay, this prototype can actually be yours for just $1,300, though we can’t obviously confirm this is a legit device or not.

On the other hand, if it is, then the prototype brings both good news and bad news for those who planned to purchase a Surface Pro 8.

Huge bezels

First and foremost, according to the listing, the Pro 8 will come with the latest Intel chips, which is definitely good news for customers wanting just the best performance on the device. 32GB of RAM will also be available, a welcome upgrade from a maximum of 16GB on the Surface Pro 7, while for storage customers will receive a 1TB Samsung SSD on the maxed-out version.

“Yes, you read the title right. Up for sale is a Surface Pro 8 engineering model, it has ES version of 11th gen i7-1165G7 processor, 32GB ram at 4267Mhz(Pro 7 maxed out at 16GB) and 1TB Samsung SSD. Perfectly working, but as it is unreleased do backup driver yourself before restoring otherwise you cannot find it online. Come with a blue type cover,” the seller explains in the eBay listing.

In terms of design, the Surface Pro 8 won’t bring too many changes, as the huge bezels would still be there, with the new model to look mostly like its predecessor. This is obviously disappointing given the majority of device makers are now making the switch to more modern designs, so hopefully, Microsoft refines the overall look of the Surface Pro before the go-ahead is given to the production model.
