Microsoft is likely to launch the Surface Pro 8 earlier than anticipated, with several European retailers reportedly listing the device already.

According to a report from German site WinFuture, the Surface Pro 8 will be offered with either Intel Core i5 or i7 chips, though the first will also get an LTE variant.

By the looks of things, Microsoft isn’t planning an LTE version of the Surface Pro 8 with an i7 processor.

When it comes to the i5 configuration, Microsoft will offer the device paired with 8GB RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB of storage. A 16GB RAM will also be offered, but this will be available only with 256GB of storage.

On the other hand, the Surface Pro 8 with an Intel Core i7 chip will be offered with 16GB RAM and 3 different storage choices, namely 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The top-of-the-range model will sport 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage and is expected to cost in Europe more than 3,000 Euros, so it’ll certainly be priced at over $3,000 in the United States.

The LTE variants will be sold with either 8GB RAM (128GB and 256GB of storage) or 16GB RAM paired with 256GB storage.

Launch in early 2021

As far as the design of the Surface Pro 8 is concerned, the new model seems to be more of a hardware upgrade rather than a completely new generation.

The design will be very similar to the one of the Surface Pro 7, so if you were hoping for smaller bezels, these are unlikely to happen this time.

Interestingly, Microsoft wants to bring the device to the market in early 2021. Previously, it’s been rumored the spring of 2021 would witness the debut of the new Pro lineup, but if this report is accurate, then the debut could happen much earlier.
