The next big launch hardware unveiling for Microsoft is the Surface Laptop 4, which according to people familiar with the matter should see the daylight in the spring of this year as part of a dedicated event.

And while Microsoft has obviously remained tight-lipped on everything regarding this new unveiling, a leak coming via WinFuture provides us with a closer look at the upcoming Surface Laptop 4 in terms of what’s coming under the hood.

First and foremost, we’ll be getting both Intel and AMD versions of the Surface Laptop 4, and this isn’t necessarily a surprise given the same approach has been used for the current model as well.

If this leak is accurate, every version of the Surface Laptop 4 will be offered with either Intel or AMD chips, so customers would be allowed to choose the processor to power the device no matter what configuration they go for.

The 13.5-inch Surface Laptop 4 will therefore be offered with an Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7, or AMD Ryzen 5 processor paired with either 8GB or 16GB of RAM. In terms of storage, there are just two options, namely 256GB and 215GB.

When it comes to the 15-inch version, these devices will be powered by Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7, with the latter to be offered with either 8GB or 16GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Intel version will come with 16GB or 32GB of RAM, so if you want the top Surface Laptop 4, you’ll have to stick with an Intel chip inside.

As far as pricing goes, the cheapest model in Europe will be the 13.5-inch AMD Ryzen 5 configuration, which will carry a price tag of €1,149 (about $1,365 at today’s exchange rates). The top-of-the-range version will be the Intel Core i7 15-inch Surface Laptop 4 coming with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, as it’ll be priced at €2,699 (about $3,200).
