Microsoft is getting ready to launch the next-generation Surface Duo, with people close to the matter suggesting the unveiling is likely to take place in the fall of the year.

And while Microsoft has so far remained tight-lipped on everything related to the new Duo, a set of images that leaked recently provided us with an early look at the upcoming model, indicating that the Redmond-based software giant is planning a series of welcome hardware upgrades, including a new triple-camera setup.

Based on the leak, Concept Creator (via WU) has designed new renders to envision the upcoming Surface Duo, along with a series of improvements that may or may not happen.

Surface Duo 2 coming in the fall

While I’m not going to discuss too much what the eyes can already see, the Surface Duo 2 renders look absolutely stunning, and I can only hope Microsoft would eventually embrace this idea and go for a design that’s close to this digital work.

The Surface Duo itself is supposed to be a flagship, but due to questionable choices on the first-generation model, the previous version has more or less left a lot to be desired.

For example, the choice of a previous-generation processor made many believe the Surface Duo isn’t supposed to be a flagship, even though it’s pretty clear Microsoft’s goal was to create a high-end product that would help expand the dual-screen form factor.

At this point, there are signs the Surface Duo 2 would come with the latest-gen processor, as well as with upgraded internals, including more RAM, a refined camera, and more. Clearly, this is a welcome overhaul the Surface Duo really needs, especially because at the end of the day, this dual-screen Android device is supposed to be a monster in all regards.
