A UK launch is on the table for the Surface Book

Microsoft launched the Surface Book in the United States in late October, but the company is hard at work to make the device available in as many markets as possible, especially because demand seems to be really high beyond the borders of its home country.

Just as expected, the Surface Book is currently set for a launch in the United Kingdom too, and according to Microsoft MVP Michael Gillett, who attended Future Decoded, the device will actually debut in the country early next year.

Microsoft officials are quoted as saying that the Surface Book is due in the UK in March or April, but this date could change a little bit, depending on the way the device performs in the meantime.

Huge success so far

Microsoft hasn’t provided any detailed sales stats for the Surface Book, but company executives claim that, so far, they’re seeing huge interest in the laptop.

In fact, all versions listed for pre-order in the United States after the October 6 unveiling were reserved in just a few days, so Microsoft has big problems keeping up with demand. If you order a Surface Book today, for example, chances are that you’ll receive it in mid-December.

Things are even worse if you go for the top-of-the-range model with 1TB of storage space, which costs no less than $3,199 (€2,900) and includes the best the company has to offer right now (among which an NVIDIA graphics card, 16 GB of RAM, Intel i7 processor). This particular configuration ships in early 2016, so it is very likely that it’ll arrive only a few weeks before the other models hit the shelves in the UK.

Full details about the UK launch of the Surface Book will be provided later on, when Microsoft is ready to unveil not only the date but also pricing and the models that will be sold there.
