Microsoft has released a new Windows Server 2019 build to insiders, though this time the changelog isn’t the most compelling reason to install it.

This is because Windows Server 2019 build 17713 doesn’t come with any new features, and users are instead pointed to the improvements that were made in the previous releases.

On the other hand, there are several additional downloads that you can try out, and one of them is Windows Admin Center Preview 1807.

With this release, Microsoft finally introduces a streamlined experience to connect a gateway to Azure, plus a virtual machine inventory page that supports multi-select. This means that users are allowed to perform the same actions on multiple virtual machines at the same time, a top feature request as part of the Insider program.

New features

There are two new features in this release, namely file sharing from the Files app and Azure refinements. The Files app now allows admins to add and remove users and groups, and control their permission level.

On Azure, Microsoft has integrated Azure Update Management in the Updates tool.

“With Windows Admin Center, you can easily set up and use Azure Update Management to keep your managed servers up to date. If you don’t already have an Azure Monitoring workspace in your Azure subscription, Windows Admin Center will automatically configure your server and create the necessary Azure resources in the subscription and location you specify. If you have an existing Azure Monitoring workspace, Windows Admin Center can automatically configure your server to consume updates from Azure Update Management,” the company explains.

This new Windows Server 2019 build will experience on December 14 this year. It also comes with several known issues, which you can check in full in the box after the jump. As usual, users are encouraged to share feedback in order to help improve performance ahead of the next releases.
