Microsoft has just released a new Windows 11 preview build for the Dev channel, and the biggest change is the reintroduction of the taskbar overflow.

However, Windows 11 build 25163, which in theory is a preview of the 23H2 update, also comes with goodies that are also part of the latest beta build that shipped to testers earlier this week.

For example, Microsoft has included nearby sharing improvements in this update specifically to make it easier to discover more devices when trying to share files.

“The discovery of devices under nearby share when sharing a local file from the desktop, File Explorer, Photos, Snipping Tool, Xbox, and other apps that use the built-in Windows share window has been enhanced by using UDP (Network needs to be set to private) along with Bluetooth to discover nearby devices. You will now be able to discover and share to more devices including desktop PCs,” the software giant explains.

Microsoft Store improvements

At the same time, the sharing improvements for OneDrive are also included, so users can now upload files to the cloud-based storage platform straight from the sharing applet integrated into the operating system.

“When sharing a local file from the desktop, File Explorer, Photos, Snipping Tool, Xbox, and other apps that use the built-in Windows share window, you can choose OneDrive as a target to directly upload the file to OneDrive and share it further along with access control options. All this can be done right from sharing local files in File Explorer without any context switches or opening the OneDrive app,” Microsoft says.

Microsoft has also announced improvements for the Microsoft Store, as users are now being provided with updated price designs to make it easier for everybody to understand how much a certain app, game, or movie costs.
