The Creators Update is projected to launch today

Microsoft has just released Windows 10 Mobile build 15207 for insiders in the Fast ring, only a few hours before the company is projected to begin the official rollout of the Creators Update for its mobile platform.

Windows 10 Mobile build 15207 doesn’t bring any big changes, but only a privacy update that provides users with new options when setting up the Creators Update after the install.

This is a change that Microsoft introduced for PCs as well, as part of the company’s efforts to meet the requirements of privacy watchdogs across the world, so users are getting new privacy controls when updating to the Creators Update as means to configure data collection and other features from the very beginning.

“For those of you with mobile devices currently running Windows 10 Mobile, the key privacy choices relevant to the mobile version of the Windows 10 Creators Update will be presented after you install the update,” Microsoft explained earlier this month when announcing the Creators Update for PC and mobile.

“The only difference in mobile is the ‘Tailored experiences with diagnostic data’ setting is automatically turned off for all customers and is not presented as an option on the privacy screen due to limitations of the mobile platform.”

Rollout starting today

This new build is only available for users in the Fast ring, but all insiders should be getting it these days as the Creators Update rollout starts across the world.

What’s important to know is that although Microsoft pushes the green light for the Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update, not everyone is getting it today, as the rollout takes place gradually and depends on a series of factors, including region and carrier.

The company promised to complete the release to eligible devices in several months, so hopefully everyone should be running the Creators Update on their smartphones by summer, obviously if these devices are eligible for getting the update.
