New build now available for mobile insiders

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 build 15025 earlier this week, but due to a blocking bug, the company decided to release it to PCs exclusively, leaving Windows 10 Mobile with no other option than to wait.

But today, the software giant pushed the “red” button for Mobile users as well, so insiders enrolled in the Fast ring can download Windows 10 Mobile build 15025 on their devices too.

New features in Windows 10 Mobile build 15025

Most of the improvements that are available on mobile devices in this build were also released to PCs earlier this week, and this is part of Microsoft’s efforts to keep all devices in sync.

As a result, mobile devices are also getting features that allow Microsoft Edge to read aloud eBooks. Users only have to press the read aloud button at the top right corner after opening an eBook and then have the browser start reading the document in the selected language.

Additionally, the browser also comes with new full-color emoji, while the Feedback Hub introduces Collections, which group similar feedback submitted by users.

More improvements and bug fixes

This build introduces mono audio option in Ease of Access settings available under Settings > Ease of Access > Other options.

“Visually impaired users […] generally use only one earbud to hear what’s being said from their device in one ear so the other ear is free to hear conversations and sounds around them. That can cause them to not hear sounds that may be directed to the other earbud. In order to change the sound to be mono mode and so all audio is directed to both ears, they used to need a physical earphone adapter,” Microsoft explains.

Just like before, there are several other improvements, but also known issues, and if you plan to install this build, you are strongly recommended to check them out in the box below.

One particular bug concerns the download and install of the build, with some users claiming that they are hitting error 80080008, but Microsoft says that a fix will only be available in the next build.
