Microsoft has published a series of new cumulative updates for Windows 10 as part of the October 2019 Patch Tuesday cycle.

The list of cumulative updates includes new releases for all Windows 10 versions, albeit you should know that only version 1803, or April 2018 Update, and newer are still supported for Home and Pro SKUs.

Windows 10 April 2018 Update will also reach the end of support next month, with Microsoft to continue supporting Home and Pro versions for Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) and newer.

No failed installs so far

Because these updates land on Patch Tuesday, the focus is obviously on security fixes, and Microsoft says in the release notes that improvements for browsers and other components are included. Furthermore, Microsoft says these cumulative updates resolve a bug detailed in CVE-2019-1318.

“Addresses an issue in security bulletin CVE-2019-1318 that may cause client or server computers that don’t support Extended Master Secret (EMS) RFC 7627 to have increased connection latency and CPU utilization,” Microsoft says.

“This issue occurs while performing full Transport Layer Security (TLS) handshakes from devices that don’t support EMS, especially on servers. EMS support has been available for all the supported versions of Windows since calendar year 2015 and is being incrementally enforced by the installation of the October 8, 2019 and later monthly updates.”

The full list of cumulative updates includes the following patches:
