Microsoft has released a new cumulative update for devices running Windows 10 version 1903, or May 2019 Update.

Windows 10 cumulative update KB4517211 doesn’t bring any security improvements, as it’s entirely focused on fixing bugs in the operating system and improving the performance of certain features.

The first thing that’s worth knowing is that this cumulative update increases the OS build number to 18362.387, and this helps determine if the update is installed or not.

Then, it comes with a long list of improvements, and you can check them out in full in the box after the jump.

However, among the most important is a bugfix addressing issues preventing older systems from upgrading to Windows 10 version 1903 because of display driver errors. This should make it possible for more users to install the May update.

Then, Microsoft says it has finally corrected the problem that broke down audio in games, as well as a screen color glitch that causes a white tin on laptops with HDR screens.

Just one known issue

For enterprises, this update comes to resolve an issue hitting browsers when attempt tot connect to Windows Server. From the changelog:

“Addresses an issue that prevents a web browser from connecting securely to Windows Server. This occurs when using a client authentication certificate, such as a SHA512-based certificate, and the web browser does not support a signature algorithm that matches the certificate.”

Cumulative update KB4517211 is offered as a manual download on Windows 10. To get it, users need to check for updates in Windows Update. The same update is also available on the Microsoft Update Catalog and the Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).

There’s just one known issue in this update, with Microsoft warning that some IMEs might become unresponsive or experience high CPU usage after installing KB4517211.
