Both PC and mobile in the Fast ring are getting it

Microsoft has just released a new Windows 10 build, this time for both PC and mobile enrolled in the Fast ring of the Windows Insider program.

Specifically, this particular build comes with lots of new features, including support for eBooks in the Windows Store, a feature that we first told you about yesterday. eBooks are now published in the Windows Store and users can buy, download, and read them as part of a seamless experience that has Edge browser as the eBook reader.

Additionally, the new build also integrates a lighter shade for Cortana’s search box on PC, as well as bigger text in notifications for the personal assistant. Microsoft says it’s just experimenting with these features and users should send feedback to help determine whether it should stick with them or not.

Microsoft has also added options to pick your own custom accent color on PC, all with a color picker that lets you choose pretty much any color you want.

Automatic removal of unnecessary files

Storage Settings also include a new option that makes it possible to automatically free up space by removing files that have been placed in recycle bin for 30 days. By default, this new option is turned off, but you can find it in System > Storage Settings.

There’s also a new power slider on some Windows 10 devices that will make it possible to configure the PC in order to give better performance or battery life. Previously, users could choose only from select value, but the slider gives increased control of this option.

For the moment, however, this feature doesn’t do anything, as Microsoft is currently trying to experiment with the UI. “We’ll be working with OEMs to determine the best settings for their customers, so that they can ship those on new Windows 10 PCs. In this Insider build, we’re just looking to get your feedback on this UI,” the firm says.

Just like with any other build, there are tons of other improvements and fixes on both PC and mobile, and you can read them all in the box after the jump.
