UPDATE, August 3: Microsoft has just released a changelog for Windows 10 build 14393.10, so check out this link to see what's new in this cumulative update and why you should install it. Original story below.

Microsoft has just released a new Windows 10 cumulative update for insider builds, only a few hours before the company is expected to roll out the Anniversary Update to retail users.

Windows 10 cumulative update KB3176929 pushes Windows 10 to version 14393.10 and brings only bug fixes and performance improvements, as Microsoft is trying to deliver the last set of fixes before the Anniversary Update is released to everyone today.

Details, however, aren’t available, and Microsoft has only announced the debut of the update, and what it’s worth mentioning is that it’s available for all rings of the Windows Insider program, which is the most obvious indication that this is the version that’ll soon roll out for everyone.

Windows 10 Anniversary Update rolling out in stages

While this new update is the last attempt to refine the experience with the Anniversary Update and correct bugs that were discovered in the previous builds, it’s worth noting that the official rollout of the new update will start in a few hours, yet not everyone will get it from day one.

The Windows 10 Anniversary Update will become available for users around the world in stages, as Microsoft needs to update more than 350 million devices.

Dona Sarkar, head of the Windows Insider program, has explained that such an approach is necessary in order to make sure that a smooth update process is offered to everyone, so just don’t start criticizing the company if you don’t get the Anniversary Update together with everyone else.

Windows 10 Anniversary Update ISOs will also be released sometime later today, as Microsoft wants to provide users with an easier method of downloading and installing the new version, while also making it a breeze to perform a clean install. This ISO will be offered through the Media Creation Tool and will be available for all versions of Windows 10 to ensure a smooth install of the Anniversary Update.
