Microsoft has released a new cumulative update preview, this time for users running Windows 10 version 2004, 20H2, and 21H1.

In other words, the three most recent Windows 10 versions are getting this cumulative update, and users can manually download it from Windows Update from the optional update screen.

The update is KB5003214, and it comes with some pretty big changes, including the news and interests experience finally enabled for everybody. So if you’ve missed this feature, which Microsoft has recently released for the first wave of devices, now you can enable it too by downloading and installing this update.

Microsoft says the update comes with several other improvements for the news and interests feature.

The update, Microsoft says, “improves the news and interests hover experience to prevent accidental openings, adds the Open on hover option (checked by default) to the News and interests menu [and] updates an issue that might prevent users from opening phone apps that are pinned to the taskbar; this issue occurs after they update to Windows 10, version 2004 and then use the Your Phone app.”

So overall, the news and interests feature should be much more polished now, with the availability expanded to all devices out there.

Huge changelog

Needless to say, Microsoft has introduced plenty of other improvements in this cumulative update, including a bunch of bug fixes, and you can check out the full changelog in the box after the jump.

Worth knowing is this a cumulative update preview, which means it won’t be offered to your device automatically, so you need to manually install it from Windows Update.

All changes, however, will also be part of the next automatic update due to go live on the June 2021 Patch Tuesday, so we’re only a few weeks away from the moment everybody gets the news and interests experience on the desktop.
