A new major update is live for the Duo 2

The Surface Duo 2 is currently the latest and greatest Android device from Microsoft, and it goes without saying the software giant is working non-stop on additional polishing and refinements to make sure everything is working as expected.

This is why the monthly updates are so important. Not only that they include the latest Android security updates, which are also released by Google every month, but more often than not, they come with extra fixes that Microsoft doesn’t necessarily mention in its changelogs.

This month, for example, the software version 2022.106.38 is said to include only the security patches that were mentioned by Google in the March 2022 Android security bulletin.

But as said, other smaller refinements might be included as well, so go ahead and install the update on your Surface Duo 2 to see if this is the case or not.

The February update

As compared to the previous software update, the March release seems to be rather light.

In February, the Surface Duo 2 update included not only the monthly security patches but also improved system reliability and stability, device performance and animations, and touch responsiveness.

Furthermore, Microsoft specifically focused on the camera performance, so the update further refined the auto focus behavior on the Surface Duo.

As always, you should keep in mind that all these software updates go live in stages. In other words, there’s a chance you might have to wait long to receive the update because Microsoft is using a phased approach to make sure everything is working as expected for all users out there.

The wait shouldn’t be too long anyway, especially because there aren’t a lot of Surface Duo 2 units out there in the first place. After you install the update, the device must be restarted
