Microsoft has recently released the March 2018 preview build of the Office productivity suite for the iPhone, with production devices scheduled to receive the same improvements later this month.

Reaching version 2.1 (build 1802) following the update, Office for iOS includes new features for Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Microsoft Excel, for example, comes with improvements for collaboration support, as the application now allows users to see where others have been working and what content they selected to edit. This means that no more conflicting changes are supposed to happen because you can always see what others are doing in each spreadsheet easily.

Microsoft Word is also getting two important new features, and one of them is support for reading documents aloud. In other words, you can now use your iPhone to listen to your documents, and this comes in handy particularly when on the go or when driving. Additionally, Microsoft Word also allows users to set Mobile View as the default view, so every time you open a new document, it should perfectly fit your screen, regardless of the device size.

Microsoft Outlook and Excel improvements

Microsoft PowerPoint is being updated with Segment Eraser options, letting you “remove excess ink, right up to the nearest line, and give your content the polish it deserves.”

And last but not least, Microsoft Outlook for iOS gets more RSVP options, and Microsoft says this is an improvement based on customer feedback. When you receive invites, you can edit your response and include comments, or simply not send a response at all.

Keep in mind that this new update is currently available exclusively for users enrolled in the Windows Insider program, but after the testing program, all the aforementioned improvements should be pushed to all devices later this month.
