Windows 10 build 19619 ISO images now up for grabs

Microsoft has released new ISO images for one of its latest Windows 10 preview builds shipped to users enrolled in the Windows Insider program.

The new ISO images are for build 19619, which was pushed to the Fast ring in late April.

While the majority of users who are part of the Windows Insider program download the new builds from Windows Update, the stand-alone ISO images come in handy to those who want to perform a clean-install or just want to try out the latest build in a virtual machine.

A clean install of a new build can also help deal with potential bugs experience in older releases, so developers often turn to this workaround to make sure they get the most refined experience.

Keep in mind, however, these aren’t ISOs images for the stable version of Windows 10, so the installation that you perform using them is set to expire later this year.

Windows 10 version 2004

Also, worth reminding is that these ISOs aren’t for Windows 10 version 2004, which according to Microsoft’s release schedule, is projected to go live later this month.

Microsoft has changed how it uses the Insider rings, and now builds that are shipped to the Fast ring no longer bring new features and improvements with a specific launch date. In other words, Microsoft is just experimenting with new features, only planning to bring to production devices when they are ready.

Windows 10 version 2004, on the other hand, is now in the Release Preview ring, so users here are already running the final build that would go live for everyone later this month.

As usual, the new feature update will be shipped in stages via Windows Update, but Microsoft will also publish dedicated ISOs for Windows 10 version 2004 once the rollout starts.
