Microsoft has released a new set of cumulative updates for Windows 10 as part of the December 2021 Patch Tuesday cycle.

The new updates are available for all versions of Windows 10 that are still supported, and since they are released on a Patch Tuesday, their main objective is to address security problems in the operating system.

The new cumulative updates for Windows 10 are the following:

The new cumulative updates are rather light, and Microsoft hasn’t provided too many specifics as to what’s included. The official release notes only mention that “this update contains miscellaneous security improvements to internal OS functionality. No additional issues were documented for this release.”

As far as the known issues are concerned, no new problems have been acknowledged, as the same glitches as before are still impacting these cumulative updates.

For example, the Remote Desktop glitch is yet to be resolved.

“After installing this update, when connecting to devices in an untrusted domain using Remote Desktop, connections might fail to authenticate when using smart card authentication. You might receive the prompt, "Your credentials did not work. The credentials that were used to connect to [device name] did not work. Please enter new credentials." and "The login attempt failed" in red,” Microsoft says.

At the time of writing this article, I’m not aware of any other installation problems hitting these cumulative updates, so make sure you let us know if you encounter any problems.
