Skype continues to be an important part of Microsoft’s software arsenal, and this is why the application keeps getting updates on a regular basis.

The most recent version is Skype 8.93, and according to Microsoft itself, it comes with pretty big news on both desktop and mobile platforms.

First and foremost, the Windows, Max, Linux, and web versions of Skype now come with options to manage your Caller ID settings right from the configuration screen, but also with a more straightforward way to customize the theme and choose from the available colors.

If customization isn’t your own cup of tea, the new Skype version also comes with additional improvements, including support for using your own voice during a translated call in Skype. And because translation has become an essential part of the experience with Skype, Microsoft has also integrated a universal translator, which allows the app to automatically detect the spoken language and translate it for you.

Lots of goodies for Skype mobile as well

As far as the mobile versions are concerned, most of these features are also live for Android, iPhone, and iPad users, but at the same time, Microsoft is also integrating the following mobile-only improvements:

Extra! Extra! Read all about it: Stay up-to-date with the latest news and trends. Learn more about the Skype Today tab. Hit me up sometime: You can easily add contacts in Skype on mobile using a unique QR code to get connected. Learn more about how to find and add new Skype contacts.
