Microsoft has released a huge batch of updates for Windows 10 apps, including for the tools that are part of the MSN pack available on PCs running the new OS.

A total of eight different apps have received updates today, namely Mail and Calendar, MSN News, Groove Music, Microsoft Photos, Microsoft Phone, MSN Money, Microsoft Solitaire Collection, and MSN Sports.

As per the company’s new strategy, not much is said about the changes that are included in this release, so it’s safe to assume that they’re more focused on bug fixing and improving performance. This should be reason enough for everyone to install the latest versions, especially if they previously experienced issues with any of the aforementioned apps.

Updates also available on Windows 10 Mobile

Some of these apps are universal, and the same updates are being pushed to Windows 10 Mobile devices as well, so if you have such a phone, you’d better fire up the store and get them on the device as well. The Microsoft Phone app in particular is very important on Mobile devices, although for the moment it’s believed that the update only brings small fixes and nothing more.

For the moment, it’s very clear that Microsoft’s frequent app update strategy is working like a charm, as new improvements are being shipped regularly, so Windows 10 users have every reason to at least give a try to apps available in the store.

Microsoft is very confident that universal apps, which are designed to run on both desktop computers and mobile phones with the same look and features, would succeed at some point in the future, and more developers are jumping on the bandwagon and bring their apps to Windows 10.

For the moment, however, there’s still plenty of work to do in this regard, as some top apps are missing from the store, including Google’s, as the Mountain View-based search giant doesn’t seem to be in any way interested in bringing its apps to Windows 10.
