SwiftKey for iOS is back in action, with Microsoft rolling out the very first update in over a year. And if you’ve been using the app lately, you can probably guess what this update comes with.

First and foremost, some background.

SwiftKey for iOS is currently the top keyboard app on the iPhone, especially as the Apple keyboard is lagging behind in terms of features. So when Microsoft announced that it would be giving up on SwiftKey for iOS, many people felt lost, as typing on an iPhone suddenly became much harder.

The software giant then reversed the decision, announcing that SwiftKey for iOS would, in fact, stick around for a little longer. The company expressed its long-term commitment to improving SwiftKey on the iPhone, and today, the very first update in a long time finally received the go-ahead.

The most recent version of SwiftKey comes to fix a bug that made it impossible to log into your account. In other words, you can now have all your data stored in the cloud, which comes in so handy, especially when using SwiftKey on more than one device.

In the meantime, users out there are looking forward to more exciting improvements for SwiftKey in the long term. Microsoft itself teased them not a long time ago, but on the other hand, the company shared zero information on what its plans for SwiftKey actually are.

For the time being, many people are just happy that Microsoft finally resolved the sign-in issue on the iPhone. SwiftKey continues to be the best keyboard app on iOS, and without a doubt, Microsoft showing a little bit of commitment to improving this app is the best news iPhone users received in a very long time.

You can find the latest version of SwiftKey for iOS on the App Store.
