iOS 13 is now available for supported iPhones, and one of the biggest changes is the addition of a dark mode at system level.

It goes without saying that such iOS getting a dark mode means developers need to update their apps with a similar visual style for a more consistent approach.

And as part of its full commitment to iOS, Microsoft too wants its apps to align with the new visual approach pushed by the latest version of the operating system, so the company has started rolling out dark modes for some of its top apps.

Today, there are two of them getting dark modes, namely SwiftKey and OneDrive, both of which enable this new feature on iOS 13 exclusively.

Aligning with system settings

In SwiftKey, users can switch between Dark and Light themes from the settings screen, as Microsoft explains in the release notes.

“We've introduced Dark Mode support to the SwiftKey App (iOS 13 only). Go to System Settings and pick between Light and Dark! Also, we've added a new way to create a SwiftKey Account - you can now use Sign In with Apple,” Microsoft explains in the release notes.

Additionally. OneDrive is getting a dark mode as well, and just like in the case of SwiftKey, it is automatically enabled when the iOS 13 system style is switched to dark.

In other words, if you have both of these apps installed, you should be getting a more consistent visual experience in iOS 13, as they follow the system settings on your device. So if you enable the dark mode in iOS 13, OneDrive and SwiftKey switch to dark as well, while picking the light theme keeps them running with the standard visual style.

More apps are likely to follow in the coming days and weeks as the rollout of iOS 13 to supported iPhones continues.
