Microsoft has recently shipped new Windows 11 builds to users who are enrolled in the Beta channel of the Windows Insider program.

The builds don’t come with any new features, as the focus this time has been exclusively on resolving glitches in the operating system and therefore improving the overall experience with Windows 11.

The new builds that are available today are the following:

  • Build 22623.1250 = New features rolling out.
  • Build 22621.1250 = New features off by default.

When it comes to fixes, Microsoft has focused entirely on the search experience on the taskbar and Task Manager.

If you’re a pro user who relies on Task Manager on a daily basis, you probably know that some features weren’t working exactly as expected. For example, in the previous builds, typing F in the search box sometimes crashed the app, and Microsoft says the whole thing is finally fixed after these latest updates.

At the same time, Microsoft says it has also included a series of Narrator improvements, so in terms of accessibility, Windows 11 is significantly improved. For instance, Narrator should now be able to read all the text in dialogs in Task Manager, while also being able to tell correctly where the focus currently is.

When it comes down to search, Microsoft explains that it resolved a glitch that caused the search box to go missing all of a sudden when clicking it. The following fixes are part of the latest builds:

  • Fixed an issue where the search box would randomly disappear sometimes when you clicked it (leaving a blank space on the taskbar).
  • Fixed an issue where the search box was shifting to the side slightly when you clicked it.
  • If you have the taskbar set to auto-hide and press the Windows key and start typing, the taskbar should no longer unexpectedly hide.
