Microsoft keeps refining Windows 10 builds with additional improvements, and recently, the company rolled out a new cumulative update for users enrolled in the Fast ring of the Windows Insider program.

Devices running Windows 10 build 19608 are being provided with cumulative update KB4557426, which increases the OS build number to 19608.1006 and adds further reliability improvements to the OS.

If you want to check the OS build number on your device, you can do so from the Settings app or simply type winver in the Start menu.

This new cumulative updates doesn’t bring much new to the table, but you should install it anyway to get that one fix for the overall reliability of the OS, as Microsoft itself says in the changelog.

Windows 10 May 2020 Update RTM

This build is only aimed at users in the Fast ring of the Insider program – improvements that are shipped to the Fast ring no longer have a release date, as Microsoft says it’s just conducting thorough testing before rolling them out to everyone.

On the other hand, Microsoft has recently finalized the development of Windows 10 May 2020 Update RTM, which is now available for testing for the Release Preview ring as well.

“We are now getting the Windows 10 May 2020 Update (20H1) ready for release and releasing Build 19041.207 to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring. We believe that Build 19041.207 is the final build and we will continue to improve the overall experience of the May 2020 Update on customers’ PCs as part of our normal servicing cadence,” Microsoft recently said.

Windows 10 May 2020 Update, also known as version 2004, doesn’t yet have a release date, but it should go live for the first wave of production devices as soon as the next month.
